One of the most exciting things about going through any change is recognizing when it’s time for a change and embracing it wholeheartedly. Once you take the step to change, staying committed becomes an ongoing process on the journey ahead, but believe me, it is worth it. Why? Because with change comes growth and a world of new opportunities.
Change Is Transforming
Change doesn’t just happen in a blink of an eye. And not all change will welcome happiness or excitement. Not everyone will approve or tip their hats. But that doesn’t mean change is not for you. Yes, change is for all of us. Jesus came to bring change, transforming our lives from death and darkness into His marvelous light. (1Pe 2:9).
As followers of Christ, our lives change the moment we accept and believe the message of our faith! The scriptures remind us that we are “being transformed into the image of the Lord” (2 Cor. 3:18), inspiring us to grow and shine with His love daily!
Accepting Change
Acknowledging the need for change is a powerful realization that presents challenges and requires faith, prayer, and effort. Recognizing the need for change is our first crucial step in personal development. It’s a sign of strength and self-awareness.
So, how do we recognize when it’s time for a change? When what once worked is no longer working, it’s not performing. If something is not producing the satisfactory results we want, then it is time to change.
Personal Experience
From my experience, I realized that when I no longer wanted to be overweight, it was time to take action, lose weight, and make a change. I made the decision and a commitment to myself to get healthier.
I decided that after the birth of my youngest daughter, who is now six years old, I would commit to losing weight and embracing a healthier lifestyle. I started researching different ideas and programs and learning more about a healthier way to weight loss. That is when I came across a YouTube video about intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting was a life changer for me.
Intermittent Fasting
Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern alternating between fasting and time-restricted eating periods. I started slowly at first and then went to the 16:8 method. The 16:8 method is 16 hours of fasting followed by eating within eight hours.
I continued with that for a while and then moved to the 18:6 method. I wasn’t always perfect with it, and it was sometimes challenging. But I stuck with it, and I’m currently still using the 18:6 method with exercise and a healthier eating lifestyle.
Intermittent fasting has been a great blessing for me and my life. The benefits I have gained include increased energy and significant weight loss. It’s a joy to share my journey with others, and this example is one of many in which I had to step out of my comfort zone, have faith, and go for the change to get the desired results.
My first step was acknowledging that I needed to change and knowing I wanted to. Then, I took the steps I needed to take to see the change I wanted. The process wasn’t always easy, but it was worth it; I gained growth and new opportunities.
I invite you to join me in this journey of change and growth.
Change Requires Choices
So, after recognizing the need for change, the next thing is establishing how you will reach your goals. Consider the choices you have to make to achieve your goals effectively.
These choices could be related to your career, relationships, health, or personal habits. For instance, you might have to choose different places for healthier meal alternatives or exercise routines to improve your health.
Let’s fact-check what I’m saying about the situation with what the Bible says.
The book of Ecclesiastes says, “To everything, there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven; And a time to heal, A time to break down And a time to build up;”(Ecc 3:1,3).
All glory be unto our Lord. Amen! Just as the seasons change in their appointed times, from the cold winter nights to the beautiful sunny days, we, too, must recognize our time to change.
The Rewards Of Change
We know change is significant for our lives and engraved in our foundations. Our lives revolve around change, development, and growth. Living life is about showing up intentionally for a purpose. And when we live to glorify God, we will encounter moments when change is necessary.
In Christ, we learn to live transformed lives by a renewed mind. To show what the perfect will of God is. ( Romans 12:2). Change plays an essential role in our personal development, and it’s ultimately our decision to embrace it, but again, it’s worth it.
Embracing change opens doors to growth and exciting opportunities, enriching our lives and helping us thrive for ourselves and our loved ones!
As always, it’s a joy to share my journey with you. I hope this moment of inspiration not only uplifts, encourages and motivates you but also challenges you to look for areas where you want to experience growth and new opportunities.
Join me as we continue to uplift and encourage one another.
Be Encouraged!
